These are basically listening devices that are implanted directly into the patient. A significant draw back to this device is that the user must undergo surgery for the implantation. Whereas they are not for people who are experiencing mild symptoms of hearing loss, they will open up an entire new world for those suffering from a more severe hearing disability.
When someone starts to experience the beginning stages of hearing loss, they will initially want to deny that there is anything wrong. It might be the concern of the unknown or they will feel embarrassed to require such a device. Thankfully, there are various choices available to those that are hearing impaired and the new hearing aids of today may not even be noticed by anyone else.
